Can the iFixit Team Repair Their Own Drifting Joy-Cons?
If you’re a Nintendo Switch owner, there’s a good chance you might have a faulty Joy-Con. The problem everyone is having is called Joy-Con drift—and it’s the reason why Link won’t stop running off the screen even when you aren’t touching anything.
So what’s the deal? Essentially, it’s a factory defect affecting all Switch controllers...and it makes your joystick think it’s receiving an input that isn’t actually there. This problem has become so big that 4/5 Switch owners on our iFixit team had it. Luckily, we all work at iFixit, so we have the replacement part and access to the repair guide, but can we fix it???
If you have a Joy-Con that suffers from drift, fix it yourself! It’s really easy (for most people)
